Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Torino, National Member of the Accademia delle Scienze di Torino, Member of the Scientific Committee of the Fondazione Luigi Einaudi, Torino. He has previously been a Visiting Scholar at the University of New York and at the University of Cambridge and he is Life Member of Clare Hall, Cambridge University. He has been co-editor of History of Economic Ideas (he is currently member of HEI Advisory Board). He is also a member of the Editorial advisory Board of MAUSS International.
He has published almost 50 journal articles in leading journals ((among them: JPE, CJE, JEBO, JoIE, JSE, JPKE, HOPE, EJHET, JHET, HEI, RRPE) and more than 15 books (as author or editor) as well as a great number of contributions in edited volumes.
Among his recent pubblications: Economic Theory in the Twentieth Century. Four Volumes (Palgrave Macmillan 2020-2025) and Economics as Social Science. Economics Imperialism and the Challenge of Interdisciplinarity (Routledge, with M. Cedrini, 2017).
